Mat 5:3-12  – Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (4)  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. (5)  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (6)  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.  (7)  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.  (8)  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (9)  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (10)  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (11-12)  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

In our previous devotions, we have seen that there are several marks of someone who is blessed of the Lord leading to their genuine, and permanent, happiness and peace.  Some of these marks included: an absolute need of the Lord; Godly sorrow for sin; Spirit led control of self; sacrificial longing for Godly living; desire to forgive others indebted to us; submission to Lord’s will from a heart of appreciation; sharing gospel with lost through words and actions; a love-driven willingness to suffer for Christ.

Are these characteristics of our lives?  If so, we can be assured that we are forgiven of our sins, members of God’s family, and have a blessed eternity in the Lord’s presence awaiting us.  What wonderful peace and comfort comes along with recognition we are Christ’s!

If, after honest reflection, we do not see these indicators in our lives, we can be certain that we have not received the Lord’s grace in our lives.  If you desire to be blessed of the Lord with forgiveness and a promise of eternal life with Him, turn from your sin and look to Christ as your Lord.  Trust in Him (His work on the cross) to make full payment for your sins, past, present and future. This is the very essence of the good news of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

May the Lord bless each one of us as we “Think On These Things”.

Such a peace and assurance here, as you help us look at His word and know Him more and His desires for us. God bless you and keep you today!

  2. I didn’t like to see that word “conclusion” but I’m sure there will very soon be a new series.
Thanks for the encouragement of this one.

As I’m sure you know by now, by “conclusion” I just meant the l;ast part of the current series… As the Lord sees fit I will be continuing the dialy devotions for at least one year. And then my plan is to offer the devotions in free e-book form. Time, and the Lord’s will, will tell what actually takes place, but that is my human plans for the series. Lord bless you.
