Deut 10:12-13 – And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,  To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Yes, with ‘all’ thy heart…and with ‘all’ thy soul is the key here. Do we love Him with ‘all’ of our heart and ‘all’ of our soul? Or are there other things standing in the midst of that? Good verse. I think many of us forget how much God wants us to really love Him. But He wants us to love Him and serve Him by our own free will, because that kind of love means something; forced love means nothing.

“serve Him by our own free will, because that kind of love means something; forced love means nothing” … what a blessing it is to know that the Lord has graciously changed our sin hardened heart and give us a heart that is desirous of and softened to Him. It is only because of this new heart that we are able to freely choose to love and serve Him! Thanks for a great comment. Lord bless.

So true, Pastor Rob . .. only for our good. We have a good God! Blessings to you and yours!

  3. “for thy good” – and oh what “good” that has been as I’ve loved Him for 54 of my 76 years. I praise Him for every moment of it – and yes, I praise Him also for the first 22 years, for He even used those years to my benefit.

    What a truly amazing God!

You are so right, even though my time walking with Christ is only 42 years, I have to agree with you fully. I have NEVER regreted follwoing Him or seeking to do His Will. But there have been many times I regret not doing what He would have me to do. Thanks for your comments. Lord bless you.
