Do you feel as if the Lord is calling you to a new ministry? Has the Lord burdened your heart to take a step of faith that is very difficult for you to do?  Are you burdened by the sin in your life?  Do you feel a call of God to salvation? In our next series, we will be looking at submission to the will of God by studying God’s two-fold call of Isaiah that is found in Isaiah 6:1-8….

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. (2)  Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.  (3)  And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.  (4)  And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.  (5)  Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.  (6)  Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:  (7)  And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.  (8)  Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

For those who like an outline… here is the basic one we will be using…

  1. The Lord’s revelation of Himself vs 1-4
    1. The Lord vs 1
    2. The Seraphims v 2
    3. The Seraphims Message vs 3-4
  2. The Lord’s call to salvation  vs 5-7
    1. Isaiah’s condition  vs 5
    2. Isaiah’s salvation  vs 6-7
  3. The Lord’s call to service vs 8
    1. Isaiah’s submission vs 8

As we read down through these verses one basic principle comes to mind…. The Lord is at the center of this entire scene.  He is the One that deserves, and receives, all the attention of both the seraphims and Isaiah.  He is the One that is being glorified.  He is the One being honored.

As we close this introductory lesson let’s keep in mind a very basic principle… When we submit to the Lord’s call of salvation or service, He is the One that deserves all the glory.  He is the One that deserves all the credit.  He is the One that is to be honored.  Without His intervention in our lives, we would not be saved, nor would be in submission to His will and ways.

Would we like to glorify the Lord in our lives today?  Simply, submit to whatever He may be calling us to do. He will be glorified and honored as we turn our lives over to Him.

May the Lord bless us as we “Think On These Things”.

      Diane,

I thnk you have definitely found what He would have you to do! Lord bless you and your blog ministry.

      • Thanks Rob…Thank you for yours…I learn a lot from what you write. The second thing that the Lord has led me to is volunteering at the hospital. I’ve only been doing it a short time but interacting with people that come in, I find is very rewarding. Diane

Sounds like a great ministry to help others who are suffering and facing trials. May He bless you greatly as you serve Him by serving others!

  3. Inside the will of God there is no failure.
I’m looking forward to this series. Years ago I made a whole tape of Petra singing “Take me in to the Holy of Holies and played it non stop. It was soon after that that the Lord gave me a new ministry which HE blessed greatly.

Angela, You are a living example of what the Lord can accomplish when His servants are in submission to His will. May He continue to richly bless you and use you.

  4. Another excellent teaching series…I look forward to it!

    • Rob Barkman says:

Susan, Thank you for the kind words…. This section of Scripture is a very powerful one indeed. There is much that we all can benefit from the example of Isaiah and his willingness to submit to the Lord’s will.
