We now continue our devotional series on the two-fold calling (to salvation and to service) of Isaiah.  Remember in this series we will be looking to learn more about the One who is calling Isaiah, along with the nature of the calls and an examination of the submission to these calls by Isaiah…

Isaiah 6:1c – In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord… and His train filled the temple.

In this section of our studies, we can see the Lord should be the only object of our worship, praise and service.  His train is filling the temple; therefore, there is no room for any other god.  There can be no other inhabitant of the temple.  Jehovah is the exclusive One…

Isa 42:8I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Exod 34:12-14Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name [is] Jealous, [is] a jealous God:

Because of this our lives should be exclusively reserved for the honor and exaltation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  In other words, He should be our All in All.

Col 2:8-10  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Col 3:10-11And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond [nor] free: but Christ [is] all, and in all.

Is Christ your All in All?

May the Lord bless us as we “Think On These Things”.

    AMEN!

Oh indeed Rob! God NEEDS to be our one and only outlet of worship. We humans are so prone to put other things in His place!
