The Apostle John, as he handed down the message of Revelation to mankind, revealed Christ to his readers. John’s message was described in three different ways: “the word of God”, “the testimony of Christ”, and “all the things that he saw”. Folks we can learn much about our witness for Christ by looking at these three descriptions.
We are to share Christ with others by:
1. Giving to them the Word of God. Folks by sharing the teachings of God’s Word with others, we can share with them the person and work of Christ and the wonderful gift of salvation that He offers to sinful mankind.
2. Presenting a testimony (personal witness) of Jesus Christ. Folks, being a living witness for Christ is sharing with others our personal experiences. We can share with them our initial salvation experience, the many blessings the Lord has given to us, His intervention in our lives during the tough times, as well as the continuing sorrow for sin and need of repentance that we all experience throughout our lives.
3. Finally, we can also explain all the things that we saw taking place around us. We can share how we see the Lord working in the world around us; His intervention in the lives of others, our churches and the nations of the world; the signs of the end times etc etc.
Folks, by keeping these three basic areas of witness in our minds, we can more effectively share Christ with those around us.
As we begin our day, let’s all ask the Lord to open up opportunities for us to tell others about Him. As the opportunity arises let try to share Christ using the Word, our personal experiences, and the events taking place around us.
May the Lord bless us as we seek to serve Him, the One that is so clearly revealed to us in the book of Revelation of Jesus Christ.
