SIH TOTT ICONRev 1:8 KJV – I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Our Lord possesses all strength and authority. Because of His overwhelming authority and power, He is in control of all things. Satan cannot thwart His plans; Man’s acts of rebellion cannot overcome Him; All the forces of darkness cannot cause Him to fail. He can, and will, accomplish what He has determined for His people.

A few of His most beloved and well known promises, given to His people include:

Mat 11:28-29 KJV – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

2Co 4:16-18 KJV – For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Heb 13:5-6 KJV – Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

All of these promises, and many others, hinge upon His absolute control of all things. If our Lord was not in total control of all His promises would go something like this…

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and, if Satan allows, I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me as long as your fallen nature doesn’t overcome my Spirit’s work in you; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls, unless the powers of darkness take your rest away.

If our Lord does not control all, He cannot guarantee the fulfillment of  the many promises He has given to us.

As we progress through our day, may we all lovingly cling to the truth …. Our Lord is in control. And knowing this truth, let us face our discouragements, trials, and oppositions boldly knowing that …

1 Jn 4:4 KJV – “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

May the Lord bless us as we seek to serve Him, the One that is so clearly revealed to us in the book of  the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

God is God, and that makes all the difference. And yet we still forget and try to do His job for Him. 😦

Aren’t we fortunate that our Lord is patient with us?

  2. SLIMJIM says:

Grateful that He controls all things!
