SIH TOTT ICONRevelation 3:5 KJV

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Oh what a glorious thought for the people of God!  Our names will not, and cannot, be blotted out of the book of those who possess eternal life!

Folks, think about how gracious and kind our Lord is to us…  when we rebelled against Him and lived a lifestyle of sin, He gave Himself for us; ….

Romans 5:6-9 KJV  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.   But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

–

When we rebelliously opposed Him, rejected Him and hated Him, He intervened in our lives, softened our hearts and gave us the spirit of repentance and belief….

Ephesians 2:4-9 KJV   “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 KJV  “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

–

Then, to top it all off, gave us His great salvation permanently, with absolutely no possibility of loss….

John 6:37-40 KJV  “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.  And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Hebrews 10:14-18 KJV  “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,  This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;  And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.  Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.”

–

The eternal security given to us by our Lord is not a “license to sin” …

Romans 6:1-2 KJV  “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?   God forbid.  How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”

–

But it is one of the greatest motivations to serve our Lord with our entire being…

Romans 12:1-2 KJV  “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Because of all He has done for us (including securing us eternally) we owe Him EVERYTHING, our time, our talents, our possessions, our entire lives.

What a great Lord that we serve!  May we serve Him with all entire being for the rest of our lives out of appreciation for all He has done for us!

May the Lord bless us as we seek to serve Him, the One that is so clearly revealed to us in the book of   the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
