(10)  And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

In his vision of the great multitude (all believers of all times), John sees them crying out saying “salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne and unto the Lamb.”  In other words, they are saying “All the credit for our salvation goes to God and the Lamb.”

Glorified believers, who will no longer be influenced by their fallen natures, will all come to understand that the Lord alone is the One that deserves all praise and honor for the salvation He has so graciously given to us.

While in their fleshly bodies there are professing (perhaps genuine) Christians who seem to take some of the credit for their salvation experience or retention…

  1. They believe they saw the need in their life for Christ, when others remained willfully blinded to their own condition and as a result, they choose Christ when others did not.
  2. Others believe that it was through baptism, church membership, or a series of other good works that brought salvation to them.
  3. Also, there are those who believe that although they came to faith in Christ entirely by His grace, they now retain their salvation through a series of good works.

Folks, the truth about all these is very simple… it is only through the grace of Christ that any of these can take place…

  1. Christ is the One that opened our blinded eyes to our need of salvation…. He deserves all the praise. (Luke 24:44-48)
  2. Christ is the One that grants us repentance and faith as gifts, we cannot do either without His intervention and enabling…. He deserves all the praise. (2 Tim 2:25, Eph 2:4-9)
  3. Christ is the One that graces us with the ability as Christians to serve Him and follow in His footsteps, apart from Him we could not serve Him in anyway… He deserves all the praise. (John 15:1-8)
  4. Christ is the only One that keep us eternally secure in Him… He deserves all the praise. (1 Peter 1:3-5)

This is why the Lord kindly teaches us that ….  Joh 15:5 KJV – “for without me ye can do nothing.”

Folks, as we enter into our day let’s set our hearts on bringing praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. He has done so very much for us!

We can bring Him praise by living our lives for Him, motived by a love and thankfulness for bringing us to salvation and then keeping us eternally secure.
