SIH TOTT ICONRev 9:15 KJV – And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

The four angels involved in the sixth trumpet judgment that takes place at Christ’s second coming are allowed to work among men at a very specific time set by Almighty God.  Likewise, the second coming itself will take place at an exact time known only by God Himself…

Mar 13:32 KJV – But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Act 1:6-7 KJV – When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?  And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

Folks, from these passages we can learn at least two very important truths:

First of all, our Lord is in control of the time of His coming back to the earth.  No man or angel can hurry nor delay it, no man can thwart His plans to come.  He is coming back in God’s time.

Secondly, we cannot know the day or hour of His coming.  As a matter of fact, we cannot even know the season or specific timeframe of His return.   How important this is for each one of us.  In a day when many claim to know the time of His coming, if we look back at the teachings of His Word, we know that this cannot be so.

So what attitude should the Christian have concerning Christ’s second coming?

  1. watchful – 1 Thessalonians 5:1-10
  2. under self control – 1 Thessalonians 5:1-10
  3. eagerly anticipate – 2 Timothy 4:6-8
  4. busy in His service – Matthew 24:42-46

Folks, may we look at today, and everyday, as a day in which the Lord may return…

May we all think on these things today and find encouragement and comfort for our hearts!

For an in depth look at these sections of the Revelation

  1. Red Bible says:

Very good points are made here, especially the reminder as to what my attitude should be in anticipating His return.

  2. SLIMJIM says:

Important truths we must remember no matter what eschatological views we might subscribe to

  3. DJ says:

Are you a member of Sardis, not knowing the hour so that He will come you as a thief in the night?

‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.

Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

Are you a son of the light and of the day?

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you…But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness…For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing (1st Thess 5:1-11, NKJV).

Do you realize the times and seasons are In a Hebrew context not Greek?

“Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the Gentiles are dismayed at them” (Jeremiah 10:2, NKJV).

The Day of the Lord begins very soon. The sixth seal is opening.

    Psalm 33

    • Rob Barkman says:

Thia passage is speaking of the need for lost men (spiritual Gentiles) to awaken to the second coming of Christ. Those who are saved (members of Spiritual Israel) know these great truths about Christ’s second coming and are to be eagerly awaiting it. By God’s grace, may His second coming be soon at hand.
