SIH TOTT ICONRev 11:18 KJV

(18)  And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

In Genesis 18:5, our Lord is called “the Judge of all the earth”.  Here, in Revelation 11:18, we can see this principle reaffirmed.

Following the second coming of Christ and the establishment of His kingdom, He will begin to reward His people for their acts of faithfulness on His behalf.  This is what is meant when our text says…

“that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great”

Following this judgment of believers’ works, He will also judge lost mankind for their wicked works and consign them to the Lake of Fire.  This is also spoken of in our text …

“shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.”

Folks, with His return to the earth, Christ will render judgment upon the entire world (both lost and saved)…

Yes, the saved will receive rewards for their faithful service to their Lord.  Their sacrifices for Christ, even though unnoticed by others, will not be forgotten by the Lord.   Any losses they suffered on His behalf will be more than restored.  At that moment it will be worth it all.  Then, once the rewards are received, His people can place them back at His feet in an act of worship and honor to Him… the only One who rightly deserves all their praise and honor.

Likewise, the lost will not “get away” with any sinful act, no sin will be overlooked, none will go unpunished.  Their sins against Almighty God and their mistreatment of God’s people will be dealt with in a just way.  At these final judgment of the lost, the Lord will truly “make all things right”.

May we all praise and honor our Lord, who holds authority over all.  He is the One that will exercise that authority to bring about a perfect justice in the world to come.
