Welcome to the Settled in Heaven Ministries Text Blog.
Settled In Heaven Ministries was founded in 2010 by Brother Rob Barkman, who for over 20 years served the Lord as a pastor, Bible teacher and author. Now retired from the pastorate, Bro Rob is now ministering through Settled In Heaven Ministries. His heart’s desire is for this ministry to be of spiritual benefit to all who might read it. To those who have come to faith in Christ as their Lord and Savior, he is seeking to share knowledge and encouragement from the Word of the Lord. For those who have not yet trusted in Christ as their Lord and Savior, he is trusting that SIH ministries will be used of God to show them their great need, and urgency, to receive the Lord’s gracious forgiveness.
This blog is dedicated fully to the honor of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus has forgiven Bro. Rob of all of his sins, given him the ability to serve Him, and has secured his future eternity with Him. Having done all of this for Bro Rob, he readily acknowledges that he owes Christ all of his heart, his soul and his mind. SIH Ministries is one man’s feeble attempt to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Rob also recognizes that ministering through SIH ministries is a gracious privilege and responsibility that is placed upon him by his Lord. To Christ be all the glory for SIH Ministries and the Word upon which this ministry is based.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I also have been involved in online ministry since the mid 90’s with websites, forums and social media. I have recently this year realized with the Holy Spirit’s leading the tremendous value and influence of this new (to me) media form. I see so clearly, the Lord calling those of His body into a cohesive spiritual body based on His agape Love.
I noticed you said you retired from the pastorate, but I would encourage you my fellow brother, that you NEVER retire from the ministry gift that called has called you too.
Paul reminded us of this, Romans 11:29, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” The King James version states, “without repentance.” Our Heavenly Father is NEVER sorry for calling us or gifting us.
The reason I state this is that many in the “brick and mortar” church world feel that online ministry is a “hobby” ministry. In the years that I have been a pastor behind the pulpit AND online, I have seen the Holy Spirit use ministry online to help others literally around the world as I’m sure by your site you also see. I am proud to address you as Pastor AND Brother because you still have a flock who follows you. You still have sheep that need leading, need feeding, need the “water of life” and the rest that the “green pastures” can give. As long as you are DOING, you will always be a Pastor in the truest sense of what that spiritual ministry entails.
Now Pastor, I don’t tell you this to flatter you, rather, I REMIND you so that you may continue to be edified, (built up) and encouraged in the Lord!
I’m going to post your site link on my Links page and even though you have many followers, the Lord by His Holy Spirit is the one who decides whom He sends your way. Brother, we are ALL vessels for His use, I for one am blessed that you stopped by that I might find your site. That is the miracle of the Lord’s leading. He knows the timing and the purpose so that we might continue to learn, to be edified, to be inspired and to serve until He calls home to be with Him!!
